While new series may have had a rough go of it this past season, I for one enjoyed the recently concluded year of television. Here’s what my TV Wednesdays looked like during the 2010-2011 season.
I fear I’m already losing one of my new favorite shows. The ratings for the premiere of ‘Lights Out’ did not meet my expectations, and I’m certain FX isn’t satisfied. What happened?
The big story for the broadcast networks was the horrible debut of ‘Skating With The Stars’ in the ‘Dancing With The Stars’ slot. Over on cable, ‘The Walking Dead’ hit series highs with the fifth episode.
Sometimes the cliché is warranted. ‘Terriers’ does belong on the best show you’re not watching lists. I just hope it lives to see a second season.
On cable, ‘Sarah Palin’s Alaska’ debuted to solid numbers for TLC, while TBS and TLC were not so lucky with ‘Glory Daze’ and ‘Pawn Queens’. Over on the networks, the big story was again the singing kids of ‘Glee’.
Cable premieres lead the weekly ratings news, with the return of ‘Psych’ and ‘Burn Notice’. There was good news for ‘The Walking Dead’ as well. On the networks, are the numbers telling us that ‘Nikita’ is now in trouble?
The big story in ratings last week came from the huge numbers AMC enjoyed for the premiere of ‘The Walking Dead’. Over on the broadcast networks, the return of Penny to ‘Big Bang Theory’ had that show riding high as well.
