Not a bad cold open this time. Dwight drinking the protein powder straight was amazing, and I loved the thigh curl contest. The card — “Sleep Over Party, We Gossiped all Night” — was cute, but Gabe’s “Flex them all night at the discotheque” line took the cake!
Just when I decided that nothing could save the episode, along came a surprise David Wallace (Andy Buckley) appearance. It’s completely unfathomable why he would have been at that fundraiser, but it was great to see him. Come back soon!
There was a lot that was frightening about the group discussion on impotence. The best parts? Gabe saying Erin doesn’t like sex because it’s like “Getting tackled by a skeleton,” and Creed’s “Haven’t heard any complaints, wouldn’t care if I did.” Good for you, Creed!
What starts out as a white lie on Penny’s part to avoid an annoying childhood friend (guest star Mary Elizabeth Ellis) snowballs out of control as the whole gang is caught up. Meanwhile, Max and Dave’s lonely, jealous landlord (guest star Ben Falcone), looks for ways to evict them – until he takes a shine to Alex.
Dwight commandeering Darryl’s office and literally getting removed by his hair was great, but even better was Dwight finding Creed seated at his desk. Who knew Creed was litigious?
I’m actually in support of Erin staying in Florida, but I knew I wouldn’t hear the end of it if I failed to mention Andy’s gesture at the end of the episode. Will it be too little too late, or are we about to have another office romance on our hands?
