Another week of ups and downs brings good news for some (’30 Rock Live’, ‘Defenders’, ‘Smallville’), and bad news for others (‘The Event’, ‘Running Wilde’). Plus, how did a Monday ‘iCarly’ stack up against the entire NBC schedule?
More sets from last season roll in this week, including ‘Vampire Diaries’, ‘House’, ‘NCIS:LA’, ‘Parenthood’, ‘Brothers & Sisters’, ‘Sons of Anarchy’, ‘FlashForward’, and ‘The Middle’.
On the networks, the big show for last week was ‘The Bachelorette’. You can bet on seeing another run next summer. Over on cable, did you see the new ‘iCarly’? Lots of other people did.
It was a rather quiet week in the ratings as we made our way into July. The networks were par for the course and the big news on cable was the decided lack of viewers for Showtime’s ‘L-Word’ spinoff.
With a new movie in the offing, a complete series set from the original ‘A-Team’ leads things off, but the real treat this week is the long awaited release of the quirky early ’80s adventure, ‘Tales of the Gold Monkey’.
With the 2009-2010 TV season quickly coming to a close, a number of the big network shows are starting to fire off their big finales. That meant nice numbers for things like ‘House’ and ‘Grey’s,’ but I’m most impressed with the longevity of ‘Survivor.’
The recent announcement of NBC’s fall schedule starts to look awfully curious when you consider the recent numbers for some of their returning shows.
