The 2009-2010 television season comes to a close, marked by series finales from ‘Lost’, ’24’, and ‘Law & Order’, as well as Simon’s final appearance on ‘Idol’.
With the 2009-2010 TV season quickly coming to a close, a number of the big network shows are starting to fire off their big finales. That meant nice numbers for things like ‘House’ and ‘Grey’s,’ but I’m most impressed with the longevity of ‘Survivor.’
Another week of bloodshed in the ratings where nobody was safe. Even ‘Idol’ took quite a hit, which at least suggests that we could be approaching a time where ‘Idol’ is just another show.
Thanks to ‘Survivor’, CBS took the early lead in the final sweeps event of the season. You can bet that American Idol will have something to say about that next week. Over on cable, why isn’t anyone watching ‘Party Down’?
The singing kids of ‘Glee’ returned to FOX and rode the ‘Idol’ wave to huge numbers. Over on cable, Discovery had a return of their own as the men of ‘Deadliest Catch’ opened a new crab season.
ABC and CBS went with the old double-team, using ‘Dancing With The Stars’ and the NCAA Championship to knock ‘Idol’ all the way to third in viewers last week. Elsewhere, what’s up with those ‘Justified’ numbers?
Last week brought good news for our friends over at ‘Castle’, and bad news for every show on Thursday. Over on cable, TNT and USA went all girlpower on us, bringing back ‘Saving Grac’e and ‘In Plain Sight.’
