The guest star casting news and spoilers abound today: Ray Romano is doing an arc on “Parenthood,”Michael Imperoli is doing an episode of “Necessary Roughness,” and there are rumors of Alec Baldwin doing a stint on “The Good Wife.” What do you make of these announcements?
As we head to the finish line for the season, more renewals are rolling in. CW has given golden tickets to ‘Vampire Diaries’, ‘Supernatural’, and ‘90210’, while HBO has tapped both ‘Veep’ and ‘Girls’ for second seasons.
Last week brought a rare sighting to broadcast television, in the form of the lowest rated dramatic premiere ever. Amazingly, that was followed by a renewal for the lowest rated show on another network. Meanwhile, over on cable, the going was also slow for the latest from HBO.
I have no idea why she was there, but the best scene of the season involved Patti Nyholm’s (Martha Plimpton) kid. Will and Peter rode an elevator together only to be met by Alicia; Eli runs into them, followed by Cary. Awkward, awkward, awkward, and then the kid comes riding through. “One of our new associates,” Will says. Awesome!
This spring continues to be a dark time for all of television, with lows hitting across the board. That didn’t bode well for the premiere of ‘NYC 22′ on CBS. Over on cable, HBO had their own struggles with the premiere of ‘Girls’.
