You know, I’ve never really been a fan of reboots or revamps. They just tend to be boring and unsuccessful … and even though some individuals — like my boss Keith McDuffee — are quick to point out that TNT’s Dallas isn’t quite a reboot, I like to place in that particular category. Still, I’ve got to admit that this show knows a thing or two about being entertaining. There hasn’t really been a slow episode yet, and last night was no exception.
Last week’s installment was more than eventful. This one seemed a bit calmer. My heart went out to Bobby who has been keeping his cancer a secret from his devious brother J.R. It seems that Bobby is on his deathbed, but I think we all know that the writers won’t kill off Patrick Duffy … again. Hell, he’s one of the central cast members. Besides, long time Dallas fans know what happened the last time Bobby was killed off, right? Yeah, I’ll leave it at that.
I really liked seeing J.R.’s sensitive side for his brother. I guess the old man has a heart after all. Seriously. I thought he was somehow living without one. In a shocking twist, he signed over the deed of Southfork to Bobby … but he quietly mentioned that he’d get it back when Bobby died. Let’s just hope that isn’t soon.
In other news, I also enjoyed seeing Christopher and John Ross set aside their differences in order to run the latest Ewing business in a storyline that will no doubt play a key role in season two. I know damn well that Christopher and John Ross can’t stay buddy-buddy for too long. That just wouldn’t be right. So, who’s going to backstab the other one first? My money is John Ross, but we’ll see how it goes.
His mother sure does have her share of problems. I’m sad to see Sue Ellen contemplating dropping out of the election, but judging by next week’s preview, she isn’t going down without a fight. That’s great. Everyone knows I have a thing for spunky broads. I also have a thing for people who aren’t afraid to do what’s right … which is why I like Rebecca so much. While I didn’t particularly enjoy her pretend brother roughing her up a little bit at the start of the show, I did like the fact that she’s wrestling with going along with his scheme. Here’s hoping she smothers him in his sleep in the next installment! Now, that would be great!
And that’s it, folks! Next week is the season finale! Sheesh! That was fast, wasn’t it? So, will Sue Ellen emerge victorious or will she return to the booze? I actually wouldn’t mind the latter. How long will Christopher and John Ross be on good terms? And is Bobby going to die? Doubtful, but you never know!

Oh my gosh! I needed a nurse and ambulance standing by at the end of the episode! I’m glad this wasn’t the season finale, but I wonder if there will be a huge cliffhanger since they didn’t know the fate of the show by the time they had finished filming. I’m glad it’s coming back, that’s for sure!

I trust that there will be some sort of good cliffhanger to end the season with. It just wouldn’t be right. I bet it either involves Bobby or Rebecca. It has been a damn good season of Dallas! What a comeback! :-) I really like Christopher and Bobby…but, of course, I love J.R.!
Surprised about the season being over, it just started in June. I loved Dallas before and love it now!! I could never understand why it was taken off the air. I’m sure the ratings would have high then and I know that they are high now. That’s why there will be a second season now and hopefully more in the future!!

Go Dallas. When I hear the Dallas song again it brings back the orginal excitement as the orginal Dallas!!

Well, Dallas ran for over a decade. I think it’s good to know when it’s time to wrap a show up. You don’t wanna lose your audience. However, Dallas has also been gone for over a decade which means that the stories have been missed. It’s nice to know that people are tuning in to watch this program. It’s awesome! I love the Dallas theme song myself. I called my mother the other week just to hum the song to her. She was at work. She immediately stopped what she was doing and joined in! :-)
