No longer is Hardman the greatest threat to Harvey and Jessica, instead it is Tanner. In “Discovery,” they realized that internal politics are irrelevant when an external threat is facing them.
Since Daniel has returned, he has reached out the both Jessica and Harvey for redemption. By the end of “Meet the New Boss” I was starting to buy into his sincerity. Daniel’s reaction to the lawsuit being withheld from him further supported that. Jessica and Harvey are the ones who come out looking vindictive.
Regardless of whether Daniel is playing them or not, Tanner is the greater threat and for the good of the firm Jessica and Harvey need Daniel on their side. The three of them against Tanner just may be able to pull this off, well, except for the whole memo existing thing.
Oops. Harvey was convinced that Tanner was pulling a fast one and forged the memo. Now that Donna has found it in the original files, what will she do? She processed it originally, so why didn’t it make its way to Harvey? Is it possible that someone working with Tanner inserted it into the files? I find that far-fetched, but possible.
Instead, it looks like the impeccable Donna made a mistake. Now that she has found the memo, the question is what will she do with it? Whatever decision she makes, hopefully, it will not exacerbate the problem.
Harvey’s case with Coastal Motors was detrimental to him and the firm, so Louis’s Liquid Water case provided a lighter offset. Plus, Louis and Mike working together was fun. While I loved the first season of Suits, this season has stepped up the stories, characters, and dialogue substantially. In particular, I love how Louis has become a more complete character instead of just an ass and there for comic relief. As much as Harvey and Mike are perfect together, I hope this isn’t the last we see of Mike and Louis together.
The winner of the comedy award this week goes to Harold. His sudden interest in Rachel was a bit odd, since they have both been around for awhile, but it was hilarious. Rachel up on the ladder with the oogling Harold below was worth a few smiles.
And, what is up with Rachel and all those staplers? Is she a stapler hoarder? Rachel and Harold’s interactions were a nice reprieve from her heavy-hearted relationship with Mike. Plus, Harold had to witness Donna and Mike in the file room … Ha! Poor guy.
In the end, Daniel, Jessica, and Harvey will work together to bring down Tanner. Unfortunately, Louis’s bugging-via-dictaphone isn’t going to earn him the respect he wants. Daniel didn’t pay him much attention at the beginning and that isn’t going to change. It’s too bad, but Mike was right when he told Louis that he brings it on himself.
The survival of Pearson Hardman is on the line. The journey to its survival is sure to be filled with twists, turns, hurt feelings, and respect — a can’t-be-missed story arc.
