We begin at yet another redundant party at the house, while Megan and Pindar show up praising the works of Dr. Lee, their therapist. But soon enough, it’s revealed that he’s really Tony Laxon, faker (Thomas F. Wilson of Back to the Future fame, who played a spiritual adviser fraud in a previous episode). So Stanton takes Hanna and Pindar to help represent Dr. Lee, even though Pindar now hates him (because Stanton introduced them in the first place).
Dr. Lee proclaims and preaches about second chances, even though he used to be … a pimp. Sure. But uh oh, in another classic F&B twist, it turns out the doc slept with a former client, fathered her child, and paid her off to disappear. But uh oh again — in another classic F&B twist, he also slept with Megan? That’s cold. So they call Pindar to the stand in another stunt move, this time not with the boys. Still, Lee loses (he was a fraud, after all), but it was all a stunt for Pindar to conquer his fear. Sure … classic twist!
Meanwhile, in the main subplot, Jared must be the judge for a small claims court for his 50 hrs of community service for some reason. After some classic nonsense with imitating a leaf blower, he rules against Dennis Mazzani and his music venue, because he’s 90 days overdue with the rent. But uh oh! In a classic F&B twist, the club is shockingly important, Mazzani’s music store or something, and even Peter is mad at Jared for his reasonable decision (plus the internet, including an easter egg with an actual article written about the place on the screen for a second). Apparently Dennis is a terrible business owner because he can’t make a profit?
Beau Bridges returns as Jared’s dad, representing Richard Cole, the owner of the property. Meanwhile, Carmen flirts up Neal, a sound guy, but then switches her story to pretend to be a journalist. But where’s our classic F&B twist? Bert Mazzani, Dennis’ father (and rock icon), is being underwritten by Richard Cole. There’s a twist — sort of. Judge Beverly Crusher (really, it’s that actress) presides over and doesn’t want nonsense, but it appears that Cole plans to build a mall on site of club. So it’s TIME TO THINK LIKE ROCK AND/OR ROLL! Whatever that means. It all comes down to the fact that Brad (Robocop himself, Peter Weller) stole Cole’s woman?
In another classic twist, Mazzani sings on the stand (getting his voice back) and “communicating” through song. And wins back the club? And Pindar gets his groove back? And we close with rocking leading to a loss of power? A party to end a party episode.
