The contestants on Dancing With the Stars had to pull two routines outta their feet tonight, attempting to get our votes to make it to the semi finals. So how did they do? I’ll tell you in one second. First of all? I have to make a brief and serious statement concerning the exit of Jaleel White last week …
I, Tara Shrodes, being of sound mind and body, would truly like to thank you The American Voting Public for getting that asshat out of my face.
Now? Let’s boogie on down and look at what each of the last six couples brought to the ballroom this week! (All overall scores are out of a possible 60 points.)
Donald and Peta: Donald seems stuck at getting nines from the judges. I can see it’s frustrating him. (And with good reason. The dude’s busting his hump out there.) He just can’t seem to get them to commit to that final point in scoring, even though they shout his praises. In his first dance with Peta, he was strong and had great lines. He was just throwing that chick around like he’s been doing it all his life. And in the trio dance? He was great in keeping up with Peta and Karina in a very quick and difficult jive. What do these judges want? Overall score: 55
Maria and Derek: These two are fast becoming my favorites. I usually do back Derek every season. He’s not only dishy, but he’s a fabulous and challenging choreographer. When he has a partner that’s filled with potential like Maria? He’ll fly with it and oftentimes win. I thought Len screwed them with that eight on their first Viennese Waltz for not having enough holds. Come to think of it? Len hated their “Bollywood” inspired trio dance as well.
These two are fantastic. Get over yourself, Len. Overall score: 53
Melissa and Maks: If I’m asking for whom the bell tolls this week, I’m sorry to say it’s them. I was a staunch supporter of this team when the cast was announced. Yet … bloom, rose, fading for me. Despite the fact that Maks is pushing as hard as he can push Melissa, and despite the fact the judges liked her tonight? I’m saying her time is just over on this show.
I can always see her thinking. She looks about as relaxed as someone having a root canal when she dances, and I think she’s progressed as far as she’s going to. There are others that deserve to advance more than she. Overall score: 51
Katherine and Mark: Are so likable. The judges got into a small brawl over her “spinny” move in the first dance. I sort of agreed. She ran at it like she was an Olympic hopeful about to jump on the balance beam, and it was a bit awkward. But she’s a lovely dancer. And? Who can still get two 10’s despite having a wardrobe malfunction of that magnitude? The girl didn’t miss a beat with part of her pants entwined around her ankle! Now … that’s class. She’s not going anywhere. Overall score: 55
Roshon and Chelsie: This duo (and in the second dance a “trio”) had a great night. I like Roshon. I’ve said it before. He has tons of energy. His routines are sweet and suited for his age, with a lot of fun stuff thrown in. Also? How cute were his grandmas in the rehearsal package and then cheering in the audience?
But … I just don’t think enough kids who would vote for him are watching this show. That’s why he’s ended up in the bottom two for the past couple of weeks, and that’s why he’s leaving tomorrow. It’s a shame, ’cause the guy is really good. Overall score: 56
William and Cheryl: I must be dead and no one’s telling me. Because William does nothing for me. The crowd is wild for him. The judges can’t get enough. He’s everyone’s “Oogle Baby.” And he can definitely dance, I guess. (Although sometimes his stiff arms bug me.) However, I just can’t “feel” it. I think he reminds me of all the really good looking guys in high school, who had everything handed to them and were just douche bags personally. My lip curls when it’s his turn. Also? Cheryl Burke has always completely annoyed me. Overall score: 57 and best of the night.
As you can see, I’m calling Melissa and Roshon as getting tapped on the shoulder and leaving the floor.
Am I crazy? (Don’t answer that question based on anything but this particular post, please.)
What say you?
I pick them the same way you do. I hate to see Roshon go, but Melissa is only going through the steps and Max has been pouting all season. It’s too obvious that he doesn’t like his partner. Sorry guys! I loved the trio dances last night…all of them.
No, this post does not prove your craziness. I keep thinking Roshon will pick up votes from the others as they go home, so I don’t know if you are right about him. But your reasons made sense.
Lol, I really want William and Cheryl to win! I love his dancing and he is so handsome. I also like Maria and Derek but Derek always wins on Dancing with the Stars. I really am just happy to be watching Dancing with the Stars still. I don’t watch it during the week since I am just a busy body. I either am at school or working hard at Dish. Since I got the Hopper I get to record all my primetime shows. Now the Hopper even offers Auto Hop where you can skip all the commercials in primetime TV which is really cool. I no longer have to sit through boring commercials anymore.
