Michael: Well … I’m just not quite certain what to say about this.
On the one hand, we have a legitimate product that needs to be marketed. On the other, we have Harry Hamlin tracing his finger along Lisa Rinna’s curves. Help me: Where do I go from here?
Tara: C’mon! This commercial is hilarious! I can’t believe Lisa would stoop so low and Harry would actually support her on it. I swear, these two will do anything for cash. Did you ever see their reality show? Painful.
Michael: I didn’t know they had a reality show. It must have been nothing more than a blip on the map, am I right? Now I have to run around the internet and search it out. Whoop! Found it!
Tara: And? There’s no way she’s actually wearing those bulky things under her dress. I don’t buy it for a second.
Michael: Of course she is! Didn’t you see the video? That’s her in side-by-side views with the red dress — one with the Silhouettes on, one without. They don’t look so bulky to me …
Tara: Sorry, I can’t stop laughing. What did you say?
Michael: I said: That’s her in the commercial in the red dresses! *eyesh*
Tara: No, you’re wrong. She comes to the carpet in a long black dress. She takes the Depends and leaves to change. Then they show “someone” in the red dresses. It’s implied that it’s Lisa, but we don’t know for sure. Then she comes back in the black dress and we’re supposed to believe that she’s got them on? I say nay nay, my friend. A dress that tight, you’d see every bulge of plastic and elastic that make up these things.
Oh cripe. I’m laughing again …
Michael: Are you daft? Harry’s feeling her up! He does it in the video below! He’s doing it in the photo above! She says she’s got’em on! She’s not going to lie right in front of us! Of course she’s got them on … !!! Harry’s even impressed with Depend® Silhouette for Women in that he doesn’t feel a thing while she has them on. Are you going to tell me he’s lying about being impressed, too … huh Doubting Tara?!?
Tara: Total lie. Total. And? Did she just say they’re “fashionable?”
Uh oh … uncontrollable giggles again. But hey, at least they fabricated for charity!
Michael: Look … I’m offering proof she’s got’em on:
Michael: See? There’s a bit of bulge going on there. While pretty savvy, the product isn’t perfect, leading me to believe she does have them on …
Tara: Not in the black gown on the red carpet she doesn’t. Maybe the person in the red dress is wearing them. Maybe. But Lisa is not in that black evening gown. You’ll never convince me.
Michael: You know, there has to be some believability in these commercials … and I’m taking the high road in believing she’s wearing a Depend® Silhouette. So there. If you’re that skeptical about the garment, I would suggest going to the website and requesting a sample, Tara. Then you can see how “fashionable” they are all by your lonesome. I mean, Harry growled at Lisa when she did that spin! And! Mr. Microphone Guy did give you a standing invitation: “Just wait ’til you try them on for yourself.” We could do a follow-up to this commercial clack … !!!
Tara: *still chortling*

Tip of the hat to CliqueClack’s own Chuck Duncan for this week’s suggestion.

Thanks Chuck!
Have you see the Depends commercial featuring Wes Welker of the Patriots, Clay Matthews of the Packers and DeMarcus Ware of the Cowboys? But as with the commercial with Lisa Rinna..for doing the commercial and wearing the product…the company donated to a charity of their choice. Gotta give them all kudos!

Yes … saw it, Mikki.
They’re nothing but good guys.
Rinna’s charity got a cool quarter of a million for the effort. McYowZah!
I am with Tara on this. Glad it’s for charity but I don’t believe she’s wearing it.
I think she’s wearing them. But I tend to believe guys who sell knives so sharp they can slice a tomato thin enough to read through. And, the knives are self-sharpening so they never go dull.
I have to go now. I need to put on my safety helmet so superglue can dangle me from a steel I beam.
[BTW, Tara, don’t let him get you into one of those things. He’s probably looking for an excuse to do the touch test.]
Rinna, as Welker, Matthews, and DeMarcus ARE wearing the Depends. Rinna, in an interview, said..yes…she did wear them. The entire idea of the commercial is to help take the stigma of having to deal with incontinence and irritable bowel syndrome. One of my long time friends wears them and trust me…you would never ever know unless she said something to you…and yes…she wears pant suits to work. :o)
