*sigh*
Foiled yet again.
Now, I can’t even get DeAndre anywhere near the Bottom 3 on elimination night. Plus! He gets a special visit from Eric Benet whose song he sang the night before on American Idol. *meh* Who you gonna call?
It was an interesting night not knowing who was going to wind up in the Bottom 3 … who was going to get the boot. But with Hollie, Skylar and Heejun winding up there, I had a sneaking suspicion it would be Heejun who turned in his dice. And I’m a bit sad about that. Too much monkey business on his part, not enough real business to get the job done. (The most difficult part of Heejun’s departure was my belief he could sing rings around DeAndre any day of the week. And twice on Sunday. And I’m not the only one who believes that to be true, let me tell you.)

Yea, I was upset the Heejun last. He was the contestant with some personality. I liked his funny side and on top of that he has a good voice. Don’t think he deserved to leave. Of course you knew they weren’t going to use their save on him. They will keep it for someone like Jessica. Still not that into her or Hollie.
I was afraid the vote was going to send Hollie home – because I think the judges might have saved her. Then if someone voted off who deserved to be saved, the save would have been gone.
I’m sorry to see Heejun go home before DeAndre, but I don’t think Heejun was going to come back from being in the bottom 3 that many times. Another week or two, but not the final five or better.
Good to see Scotty. I was singing to a fussy granddaughter about the time he was singing, so I can’t say I actually heard him. Saved the show just to go back and listen to him.
As I understand it, the plug was for the “Global Warming Tour” Aerosmith is launching, not a promise to be on Idol. However, who knows what will happen in the finale.
Artists who are looking for TV exposure need to be a little more careful about what they are exposing, Ms. Minja. Even the old carnival barkers knew the trick was to give the yokels enough outside the tent to make them pay to come in, but not enough to have the sheriff shut the show down. One more bump or grind and Fox might have had a hefty fine from another wardrobe malfunction.
I got the feeling Jimmy Iovine was uncomfortable with what I perceived as real emotion on the part of both Colton and Joshua. I’ve heard “If the singer cries the audience won’t” since I was a teen-ager, but I’ve not seen that hold true in some circles. Colton and Joshua both come from demonstrative religious settings, and that is a whole different universe. Grab your umbrella and let Colton take you to church, Jimmy. Who knows, maybe you’ll end up needing the kleenex.
