Will the women get less catty and forge ahead on The Celebrity Apprentice?

Alrighty then. Last week, I made the supreme mistake of criticizing Clay Aiken’s appearance of late on The Celebrity Apprentice, much to the chagrin of Claymates everywhere who gave me the what for. They’re a feisty bunch, and I shall try not to anger them again. I think I’m pretty safe in this post, as I have nothing bad to say about Clay’s performance as project manager in this task. (I do however still have issues with his scrappy and somewhat disheveled look, but as a friend and fierce Aiken-ite told me? He’s not a “fashion type -a- guy. He gets lazy sometimes.” So, I’ll leave that alone. However, Claymates please still retweet this to Clay and let him know I will gladly dress him for free if he just pays for my airfare and hotels. And food. Wait! Maybe a small salary. Anyway? Have his people call my people.

Clay was up against Aubrey O’Day (who I still do not buy as a “celebrity”) in a task involving the throwing of a bash in praise of a couple of new Crystal Light low calorie drink flavors. The women chose the pomegranate flavored “Pomtini” and the men were left with the Peach Bellini. Which Clay had no problem with, being a good ole Southern Boy and all, ma’am.

And he just kicked Aubrey’s ass. C’mon. Was there even any doubt that Clay’s party was hands down more fun and entertaining than What’s Her Names? The men’s team took what the executives said in the meeting and made it happen. Plain and simple. I don’t believe the higher-ups could have said the word “fun” any more times than they did. Clay used all of his teammates effectively, he delegated, he came up with the clever concept of “Life’s a Peach.” He had his team call contacts to show up at the thing scantily clad in beach attire. He sang beautifully. Penn juggled. Arsenio limboed. Everyone was having a blast. (And as Clay himself pointed out in the boardroom? The brand messaging was only off because the crowd was standing and dancing and obscuring the executive’s view.) What here was not to like? Bravo for the guys!

Whereas Aubrey only had tears, praise for her own performance, and her great big charity-concerned heart to bring to The Donald. Yes. Aubrey was right in saying that he doesn’t always fire the project manager. But in this case, she was lucky. She did have the scapegoat in Patricia. (I never thought Patricia would last on this show anyway. She seemed a bit lacking in every skill but graphic design. And as we all saw, she didn’t even do that very well. No surprise that of the three, she was the one shown the door.)

After all the antics and whispering of hate that the women have done thus far, I was gagging at the love fest in the boardroom. That is, until things got ugly and Aubrey proved that despite saying she “loved” Dayana eighty-two times? She just went for her jugular and called her out to prove she’s never had a creative idea since the show began.

Even The Donald had to comment he finds it so funny that the women can rip each other to shreds in the boardroom and then walk out crying and linking arms.

Just like last week, I may anger my fellow chichitas when I say … why? Why do women behave like this in the business world so frequently? Don’t get me wrong. I completely understand tearing up at work for something that really pushes your buttons. But at some point? You have to pull it together and compose yourself! Aubrey cried from the moment she lost (and yes it was ultimately her fault for throwing a “sophisticated” party when the Crystal Light executives declared they wanted to see the opposite.) She made several other mistakes, as well. Like?

Maybe she should have brought in Teresa instead of Dayana. Teresa “I throw the best parties,” who messed this one up and questioned her theme in front of Don Jr. when he visited. Or maybe she should have brought in Debbie Gibson for writing and performing that horrific “catchy theme song” that Debbie herself couldn’t even remember when called upon to sing it by The Trumpster. (And had the gall to lip synch in front of the executives.)

Dayana was the wrong choice to call into the boardroom. She actually brought in some “name” people to the event and really did nothing wrong on this task. But nooooo. Aubrey just brought her back because she hates her. This is another thing women sometimes do in a work atmosphere. Sabotage each other. I’m glad it bit her in the behind, and I hope Dayana got the heads up message to watch it with Aubrey in the future.

Right now? I’m just waiting for the week that the teams are mixed up into co-mingling genders by The T Man. I’m just bone tired of the women and their all ova the place backstabbing shenanigans. It was fun to watch (in an evil sort of way) for awhile. But … I’ve evolved.
