House – Mrs. House is back!

The reappearance of Dominika, combined with the knowledge that this is the last season of 'House,' has got me thinking about where House will be in his life when the series ends.

- Season 8, Episode 13 - "Man of the House"

“If it isn’t the old ball and Ukraine …” – House

Roughly ten episodes left to wrap this spectacular eight-season series … and we’re re-introduced to House’s fake wife tonight, who looks like she’s here to stay. Where’s this storyline going? Will House finally be able to have true happiness without turning into Angelus?

The look on House’s face when he walked into his apartment, to Amy Grant and dance aerobics, was pure bliss. House has grown a lot since he last saw Dominika and maybe he is ready to settle down in a mature relationship. It might be a nice ending to the series, a sort of full circle character growth thing. Or should the series end with House as House, the loner, the cynic, the addict …

Speaking of character growth, that makes me think of Taub … and I never thought I’d use that phrase in a sentence. But perhaps Taub finally is growing up, as he said tonight. Or, is his testosterone just lower because he’s raising children? He hasn’t evolved completely away from his selfish ways, or he wouldn’t have offered to split the extra money with House to swipe the job out from under the rest of the team.

This and that:

  • “I’m guessing your testosterone level is just below Bieber.” – House
  • “So nobody cares about the job until I apply and suddenly it’s the last limited edition light saber at Comic-Con.” – Park
  • “In high school, they called me the Book-y Monster.” – Park
  • The suture contest cracked me up for some reason.
  • Wilson as the fake neighbor was adorable … he’s such a bad liar!

So what do you think? Share your thoughts in the comments about how you think House will end, if House can find true happiness or if he’ll wind up alone, or something else.

So did Taub get the job as House’s second-in-command?

I thought so, yes. When he and House were talking and Taub said he’s split the $$ with House and they shook on it, I took that to mean that Taub got the job. But really, Taub got the job because he didn’t lower himself to compete for it like the others did, participating in suture contests and such.

I don’t know, going behind their backs to make secret deals with the boss is more contemptous in my mind. Poor Chase, his career is just so crappy and not going anywhere. The guy who strated working for House after him is now the Dean of Medicine, Cameron is probably the head of department at some hospital in Chicago or something; Chase can’t even get the nod as House’s second in command after working for him for all that time. He should have just really quit last episode. And I thought this is the guy who was supposed to be an ass-kisser because he’s so ambitious and wants to further his career?

I think they forgot about that Chase.

I think the whole thing was silly because if you’re going to have a team leader, pick the one who is going to be most effective, not the one who is willing to give you half the money. And that doesn’t even make sense that Chase wouldn’t because he split half the winnings with House on the Survivor pool in season 4, and that Taub lowered himself last episode playing paint ball games with House in the office.

Chase should have gone with Cameron. He’s the best of the fellows and could have been running his own diagnostics department somewhere else.

Is Domenika going to be House’s end-game? What a kick in the teeth to the House/Wilson, House/Stacy, House/Cameron and House/Cuddy shippers who have hung in here so long.

I’ve really been enjoying this season, and I don’t miss Cuddy at all. I like the new additions to the team and the way they keep the dynamic fresh. I’d watch another eight seasons of this show.
