As you might guess, Once Upon a Time’s (OUaT) freshman season has caught my seasoned TV eye. And, I can’t get enough. I especially love the characters who the writers and actors do an awesome job bringing to life.
I love Mr. Gold’s contemporary charismatic yet slightly sinister nature. “Gardening” in the forest with a shovel? “Helping” a pregnant girl? AND, Robert Carlyle‘s face? Delicious.
Both modern-day Mary Margaret and fairy-tale Snow (Ginnifer Goodwin) do it for me major league. While one is a kickass leather jerkin wearing-badass, the other still gets her point across in common-sense ways.
Charming (Josh Dallas) does it for me past, present and future. However, Emma (Jennifer Morrison) I crown my favorite ass-kicking glamazon. I could’ve just watched an entire series with her as a kickass bounty hunter, discovering her fairytale roots. But, then the show would’ve become Grimm, so I guess it’s good the pilot veered another way!
Two characters I can’t quite cheer for are Jiminy (Raphael Sbarge), who I still see as blah, and Regina. Lana Parilla eats up the screen as the evil queen, but she IS the evil queen.
Also, I LOVE Sheriff Graham. Jamie Dornan‘s lilting Irish accent and sensitive huntsman angst (in modern-day form) do it for me every time. …
So, I put it to the peeps who click clack on their keys about THEIR favorite OUaT character.
An: OK, Peeps OUaT returns on Sunday, so who is your favorite Once Upon a Time character (recurring or guest)? And, which incarnation? Past, Present or Both?
Julia: Man, it’s either Snow/Mary Margaret or Charming/David/Whoever. Who’s my favorite depends more on if I’m in a mood for someone I want to be/steal the wardrobe of and someone I want to make out with.
Katie: I ended up watching all of OUaT’s season so far over the weekend and I’m thoroughly surprised and impressed by the show. Snow White/Mary Margaret is much better than I expected … I loved how even before she became a fugitive in the past she was smart enough to know the Huntsman had something up his sleeve and cunning enough to trip him up. Sheriff Graham breaks my heart and I’m just wondering if we’ll see him again in some way.
And gosh darn it, I like Henry (Jared Gilmore)! The kid is a good actor and you’re really rooting for him to get people on his side. Fun fact: just found out on IMDB that he’s played by the kid who also played Bobby Draper on Mad Men.

Wish I could vote for Snow/Mary and Charming/David as a pair – I love them together. They elevate each other, which is why they are so clearly meant to be together. :-)
I voted for Mary Margaret/Snow mainly because she reminds me so much of my high school Latin teacher. Similar style of speaking, similar haircut, and she was from Wales, which is practically fairy tale land. The fact that the writers managed to make both of her characters fit despite their seeming contradictory nature is rather impressive as well.
Henry and Archie are tied for a close second place.
I voted for Emma because she is the lead of the show and my fav character.
