A funny thing happened on the way to the forum …
En route, someone shuffled along into another week who shouldn’t have. Marcus Canty, getting The X Factor equivalent of a Monopoly “Free Parking” space, received his rightful due by being eliminated a full seven days after the fact.
You see … Nicole messed up last week. The voting public, however, did not. I said a lot in my comments on Tara’s previous post, among them that it’s been time for Marcus to go for a long, long while now. For me, his ouster was no surprise.
The surprise instead was the fact Melanie wasn’t paired up with him as one of the possible two headed out of the competition. (Oh, sure: I know Steve “No Particular Random Order Boy” Jones would point out the elimination process had nary a rhyme or reason, but symbolically, didn’t you really want to see Marcus and Melanie up there instead of Chris and Josh? I did. Not that the end result would have been any different — Marcus would still have been dismissed.)
At the end of the day, I believe Chris and Josh will be pitted against one another in the finale … but, really, there’ll be no contest there. Sympathy votes for Chris notwithstanding, Josh will walk away with the prize.

This was a no brainer.
In fact, you don’t need to use very much of your brain to watch this show. Do you?
Putting Josh up there with Marcus was a lame attempt to create some suspense and give Nicole another opportunity to look distressed. Results shows… what a waste of time.
Melanie has two accents – the one that she grew up with and the one that she learned in the U.S. It seems her “natural” accent comes out when she’s very emotional. That’s not at all unusual.
