When Chuck lost the intersect, I wasn’t sure how the show was going to keep up the action and comedy. Then, Morgan got the intersect and the show seemed to be headed towards a repeat. Fortunately, the writers were able to find a natural progression for the characters and keep the show entertaining.
This may be the best season of Chuck yet. “Chuck Versus the Hack Off” was funny and moved the story arc forward in an unpredictable way. First of all, how adorable was it to see Casey getting some love? That never would have happened a few years ago. Verbanski and Casey are a perfect match. On the compound mission, it was as if it was Casey there, just cuter and in drag!
When both Casey and Lester got arrested, I never considered they would be in jail together. And, who would have thought that Lester would become prison royalty over the formidable Casey. Very “Chuck” outcome.
I don’t watch Community (I know, I’ll get to it … eventually), but it was a nice cameo by Danny Pudi with the extra suprise appearance by Yvette Nicole Brown. He was perfect person to make Lester jealous enough to want to leave his jail paradise.
The big reveal from the mission was that Decker didn’t want the computer virus device to specifically use it, rather he wanted to frame Chuck for using it and make him a wanted man. I never liked Decker and was ecstatic when Verbanski killed him. Unfortunately, that doesn’t mean Chuck is in the clear. Who was pulling Decker’s strings? Who wants Chuck out of the picture?
That is a mystery to be answered another day. And as Chuck said, “Sarah, I was wrong about quitting the spy life. Because right now, we’ve got to be the best spies we’ve ever been, okay?”
Looks like we have a fun ride ahead of us!
Here are some of my favorite moments and quotes:
“When he gets all plugged in he goes overboard with the Chardonnay. Calls it his ‘thinking juice.'” — Morgan
“Right, I’m gonna take orders from Ward and June Cleaver.” – Verbanski
“Close your eyes. Imagine David Beckham. Lester’s a shorter, feminine version of his wife.” — Morgan
“You touch one hair on his head. And, I will pull your plug. Mark my words, son. Stop back or your nights will get real long. Real long. Step back!” — Lester
“What the hell?” — Casey
“I forgot something. I’m really good at this.” — Chuck
“There’s someone who hasn’t forgiven your dickish behavior. And, you need to right that wrong. I’m talking about John Casey.” — Jeff
“I know, dude. I’m not brain damaged. I’m sorry, too soon?” — Morgan
“… soon people will be hunting Chuck, the way they were hunting Bin Laden.” — Decker
“We could have been something.” — Verbanski
“Still can be.” — Casey
“Perhaps someday.” — Verbanski
“No. I found someone who cares about you as much as I do.” — Verbanski
“Prison transfer from CB-11, section 38.” — Morgan
“I missed you, big guy.”– Morgan
“Sarah, I was wrong about quitting the spy life. Because right now, we’ve got to be the best spies we’ve ever been, okay?” — Chuck
***SPOILER***
OMG Shaw is back!! :O Did not see that coming! It makes sense though! Who else would be so set on taking Chuck down.
I can’t remember exactly what happened to him after Chuck destroyed The Ring.
I thought he died or something… Apparently not! Can someone please tell me when we last saw him?!
How did he get someone so high in the CIA to do his dirty work for him?!
I recently noticed some similarities between Chuck & Psych. Both have recently done a “cult that isn’t what it seems” episode. Both have a strong female blonde in a LEA position with an absent con man father.
Now we just need Morgan to walk in with a pineapple and the trifecta will be complete
:o)
