Did you see that thing on YouTube that shows the three-season long Beetlejuice joke on Community? This episode of Parks and Recreation reminds me of that. It seems like Easter Eggs have been hidden all over Pawnee, just so we could have this fantastic trip down memory lane.
Of course we remember the episode where Ben and Leslie finally kiss for the first time after going to Indianapolis, but I had forgotten about Leslie and Tom’s not at all steamy kiss that happened not too long before. But what really impressed me was them bringing back the fact that Leslie and Ben actually did bribe a guy at Lil’ Sebastian’s memorial. I had 100% forgotten about that, so it was awesome that it ended up playing such a pivotal role in the plot.
Once we started seeing all of the killer witnesses, especially Tammy 2, I was half expecting Louis C.K. to come back and ruin everything. It does seem like he will be coming back to destroy the beautiful love that Leslie and Ben have found, but probably not until next season. In the meantime, I’m just going to enjoy Ben and Leslie, currently the cutest couple on TV.
Some of my favorite lines from this episode:
Chris: “Actually, I am quite miserable. I admire and respect you, and dragging you through an ethics trial is filling me with sadness. I have never felt so low.”
Leslie: “Well, you’re radiating pure joy.”
Chris: “I went to my herbalist and got two B-12 shots and then I ate an unreasonable amount of St. John’s Wort, and my herbalist took this weird bee pollen paste and rubbed it around my nose. And now my mouth feels like a spaceship.”
“But when you sit back and let your reputation be destroyed, you go down in history as a frozen whore!” – Leslie
“I’ve seen over 200 episodes of Law & Order, and it’s paying off big time.” – Leslie
