With a baby on the way, the first two episodes of the season have focused on Booth and Brennan’s relationship. This week’s “The Prince in the Plastic,” stepped away from that theme and instead went back to what makes Bones great — the interaction of the team and an interesting case.
The case of the murderered toy company executive had plenty of twists and turns, but it all had to come back to the owner, Bianca (Morgan Fairchild), right? Though, I was convinced it was the brother and then the boyfriend when the evidence pointed in their direction.
What was your Prince Charmington doll? It was sad to find out that Brennan never had a doll or played with toys. While not surprising, it revealed a huge hurdle she will need to overcome as a mother. It was hilarious to watch Brennan play with Prince Charmington in the lab, but that was because as adults we can understand what she is doing and how that is her personality. For a child, I would imagine it would be quite confusing.
Brennan is fortunate to have Angela as a friend to help her adjust to motherhood. It’s going to be fun to see them both as mothers at the same time. Booth and Brennan’s daughter will be incredibly lucky to have a free-spirit like Angela in her life, as well.
I was disappointed that we didn’t get to see the trip to the toy store at first. It was all worth it when we found out that Brennan actually can have fun; she just isn’t good with a doll! I love that she got two Nerf guns for her and Booth to use. It was the perfect toy for them!
Odds and Ends
It bothers me that Sweets is even IN the field at all. He’s a psychologist, not an agent. I haven’t liked his character from the start, nor his attitude, which would often threaten to prevent Brennan and Booth from working together if they didn’t do this-or-that. Same reason I don’t like Cam .. her “I’m the boss” attitude. For the first time, I really liked Daisy in this episode! I love Brennan and Booth together and feel this will keep the show going even longer.
