The Walking Dead is probably the biggest release on the schedule this week, but it’s also the most annoying one. Don’t get me wrong, I’m a fan of the show, and I would recommend the set. The annoying bit is that they already released a set, and now they’re back with the special edition. I’ve always felt that this was a bit of dirty pool. It penalizes those that bought the set when it was originally introduced. The special of this edition includes the B&W pilot, commentaries for all the episodes, and a bunch of behind-the-scenes features.
Elsewhere, Friday Night Lights gets the complete series treatment. Unfortunately, this isn’t the special edition where that god-awful murder/body dump/car burning debacle never happened. It does have all of the good parts that soften that particular blow however. And talk of football brings me to my pick of the week, The League. Possibly the funniest show that nobody watches. If you haven’t seen it yet, I would recommend you throw ten bucks at season one. You’ll never think of Leslie Bibb the same way again.
