One of the shows on the CW I’m most looking forward to is Secret Circle. While I never really got behind The Vampire Diaries train, I’m a big Kevin Williamson fan. Plus, they’ve put together a cast I’m really excited about, including Britt Robertson, Thomas Dekker, and Natasha Henstridge.
I’ve got the audio from the Williamson interview below, but the audio from the others didn’t turn out so well. Here are the highlights from all of the interviews:
- Williamson says that he loves writing “emotional horror,” and Circle will be very emotional.
- At this point, Secret Circle and Vampire Diaries will live in two different worlds.
- Williamson and the network both wanted Robertson (without realizing the other did too).
- Executive Producer Andrew Miller explained the changes from the book, specifically the disposition of Cassie’s mom, were a by-product of the transition from page to screen.
- Miler hopes that Secret Circle will do for witches what Vampire Diaries did for vampires.
- As good as the role of Dawn Chamberlain might be, it was working with Williamson that really drew Henstridge to the project.
- Britt Robertson likes her character Cassie because she is so very different from Lux from Life Unexpected.
- Robertson referenced a new character as her “muggle friend.”
- Robertson talked about how much of herself she was putting into Cassie, specifically how she’ll define the character by her physicality.
- Phoebe Tonkin is excited about not having to wear a mermaid tail in her role of Faye Chamberlain.
- Tonkin talks about the interesting relationship Faye has with her mother Dawn, specifically that she doesn’t know what mommy-dearest is up to.
- She also believe that Faye isn’t as mean as she comes across.
