Tara: I like these two. They had spunk. And chemistry and they were amusing as well. James Garner never does anything bad, from Victor/Victoria to those awesome Doris Day flicks. And I hear he was good in Maverick too, but it was a bit before my time.
Michael: Well … here’s the interesting thing: Thinking back, I can’t remember where I first heard of James Garner. The only thing I can recall is Space Cowboys, believe it or don’t. I know I’ve seen or heard him on other things, but for the life of me I can’t figure out what. I’ve never seen Victor/Victoria, never seen any Maverick, nothing. So where in the world — outside these Polaroid commercials which I do remember — have I seen the guy … !??
Tara: But what about Rockford Files? Everybody has seen that.
Michael: You’re going to hate me. I’ve never seen an episode. But! I remember the theme song! Does that count?
Tara: I’ll give you that.
I know you like to shoot pics Michael. Did you have a Polaroid? I recall having to blow on pictures after they came out and wait for freaking ever for them to develop.
Michael: My folks had one. I still think I have it somewhere, too. We weren’t allowed to touch the cameras when we were kids. They were the “grown up toys” and not for our personal use.
Michael: You know, I forgot how funny that commercial was. Jimmy Boy is not only lookin’ good, he’s pretty funny, too.
Tara: That he is. And Mariette is the perfect foil for his gentle snarkiness. Can you imagine if we starred in a commercial like this? By the end, I’d be punching you in the stomach.
Michael: “By the end” … ??? What are you dreaming? We’d be pulling out each other’s hair come second take.
Michael: Hey … did you notice James doesn’t answer Mariette when she asks “Why a Time-Zero OneStep?” He just glosses over her like he didn’t even hear her.
Tara: A lot of people thought they were married when they made the commercial, so maybe he’s just imitating life by ignoring her.
Michael: Typical male pattern behavior. I can relate.
Tara: And the first step is admitting it. Glad you’re on your way, Michael.
Michael: Wait a minute! I didn’t admit anything! I just said I can relate, that’s all.
Tara: You’re right! Because it’s me always ignoring you. Maybe I’m the one with the problem. I’ll think about it tomorrow.
Michael: You do that, Tara.
And! Just for fun I included the video below in case anyone has trouble with insomnia. It should cure what ails you.
Poor, sad Polaroid. Can’t swing a dead cat without hitting an ex-employee around these parts. It’s a shame.

Bob?
I think you’re going to be in big, huge trouble with Tara because of that comment.
I loved those commercials, but then I went out and bought a Kodak EK6 instant camera which was made useless a few years later by a huge lawsuit brought against Kodak by Polaroid. It didn’t matter much to me because for once I got lucky and ended up selling it a couple of years before the suit to finance my desire for a Pentax 35mm SLR camera.
Michael, if you’ve never seen “Support Your Local Sheriff” I highly recommend it. It’s a 1969 western comedy starring Mr. Garner and it remains one of my favorite movies to this day. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0065051/

Tom:
I have such a formidable list of films that “need” to be seen it’s ridiculous. For what it’s worth, though, Support Your Local Sheriff is one of those on the that list.
Workin’ on it … workin’ on it …
P.S. Edit feature is working, Bobo.
Look…
Either I’m starting to lose my mind or something’s amiss. Now a reply I posted earlier in the day is nowhere to be found, along with the one I deleted last night that was still here this morning.
What gives?

Well, Tom … it’s like this:
It all started with my investigation of what all the hullabaloo was about when you originally wondered where the “edit” feature ran off to. Far as I could tell, it was there.
But … I went and got your requested comment nixed. In so doing I apparently had the wrong one deleted. It’s been a domino-effect mini 3-ring circus of frivolity ever since.
Tara and I have been laughing about this particular post for various reasons, not realizing it was the comments (or lack thereof) and the actions surrounding them that would be the most entertaining.
Apologies for the blunders, Tom. It appears this is just one of those things that keeps getting worse as you try to correct it. I know you know of what I speak.
It was worth it for the laugh I got after reading your reply. I’d be willing to bet none of this would’ve happened had I tried to refresh the page immediately after seeing no edit/delete buttons since they reappeared after I replied to my own comment.
“It appears this is just one of those things that keeps getting worse as you try to correct it. I know you know of what I speak.” – Oh yeah, I call it ‘life.’
