After some consideration, it’s nice that the show isn’t all about Mike’s lack of credentials. Mike and Harvey’s cases warranted the focus with the unexpected and well-played twists.
There are many, perhaps too many, legal dramas on television these days, but for some reason Suits doesn’t really feel like a legal drama. I can’t put my finger on exactly why that is, but perhaps it’s because the cases and the way they are won tell us more about the characters than the law itself. I come back each week to see how the heck Harvey is going to win and how Mike is going to find a way to succeed. They just happen to play in a legal playground.
This week, both Harvey and Mike appeared to be losing but through perseverance, they were able to not only win but crush the opposition. One of these days, they aren’t going to win and that will be both a fun and miserable experience to watch. Though, I’m sure Louis will relish the day Harvey gets knocked down.
Twice, Mike has given Louis the smackdown at the end of a case. Louis isn’t going to like that and I’m guessing he will be after Mike big time. Probably not a good idea, since … Mike has a big secret. When the secret comes out and I’m sure it will, I hope Louis isn’t the one to uncover it.
Overall, this was another excellent episode of Suits. Definitely, the best new show of the summer — a winner! Actually, from both new and old shows, it’s the one I most look forward to each week. I’m hoping it can continue at this level and I’d love to see a renewal from USA Network soon.
