As you know, it’s summer hiatus. We may be sitting around drinking peach mojitos without pants on waiting for our favorite shows to come back on TV (that’s what you guys are doing, right?), but sitcom stars are making the most out of their summer vacations: they’re crashing bachelorette parties in Michigan.
So what I can gather is this: Two of my biggest sitcom crushes, John Krasinski (The Office) and Jason Segel (How I Met Your Mother) were hanging out in Ann Arbor, Michigan last night (Segel is filming The Five-Year Engagement) when they adorably crashed a bachelorette party and sang drunken karaoke. Swoon. Yes, drunken karaoke can totally make me swoon: I’m a cheap date.
They brought the lady of honor up on stage with them and sang an enthusiastic rendition of “Brown-Eyed Girl“:
It was cute, and I’m sure the bachelorette just about died from happiness (I know I would have, also I would have seriously considered ditching my fiance, but I digress). However, the highlight for me was their next song, “With a Little Help From My Friends.” Jason Segel can definitely pull off the Joe Cocker vibe, but I was particularly entranced by John Krasinski’s Jennifer Hudson arms. Seriously. Watch this clip and tell me that he doesn’t look like he’s going to burst into, “And you, and you. You’re gonna love me.”
Just watching this has put me in the best mood ever. But don’t think this post is just for the ladies, because I’ve got something for the fellas as well: John Krasinski’s wife, Emily Blunt is also in The Five-Year Engagement, as is Community‘s Alison Brie. They got in on the action too, singing girl Karaoke favorite, “Total Eclipse of the Heart.” This video is sideways, but that doesn’t make it any less cute, especially because Miss Annie Edison says the “f” word:
I’ve never wanted to be in Ann Arbor so badly.
Well I got to interview her before the finale, Alison mentioned that she and Emily were forming a very sister-ly bond up in Michigan, so this doesn’t surprise me in the least.
John Krasinski sings pretty good! I have a little bit of a crush on him too (well maybe more of a crush on his Office character, Jim!) Thanks for posting!
