This week brings a short list, with some interesting bits. New sets from The Closer and Medium are an easy sell. Both shows are always solid. They’re joined by Big Time Rush and Louie as the bigger releases. The really interesting stuff comes from some of the less popular choices. There are two new offerings from Miss Marple, and it has me pondering a question. I’m a huge fan of Masterpiece Mystery, but now faced with Miss Marple staring back from the editing screen, and having just finished watching the latest Poirot, I put it to you, who is better? I’d go with Miss Marple, but dang… is it ever close.
Also worth noting, for those of you that mourn the death of the traditional mini, are three classics from the 80s. Nothing says big time mini-series event like Joan Collins (ok, except for Richard Chamberlin), and Monte Carlo and Sins have her in her finest mini-series form. Starring with George Hamilton and Timothy Dalton even. As fun as that is, I’m more interested in the casting for Queenie. That’s Mia Sara on the cover. She of Sloane in Ferris Bueller’s Day Off fame. I’ve always been fascinated that her career didn’t go big after that role. And no, playing Harley Quinn in Birds of Prey doesn’t count, as awesome as that was. For the fond memories, Queenie is my pick of the week.

/still in denial about depressing last season
Mia Sara in Birds of Prey was major amounts of epic. It’s too bad we have to wait so long in between Mia roles.
