USA moves to the head of the pack this week with releases for Covert Affairs and Royal Pains. They’re joined further down the aisle by a nice collection of classics that includes another Blu-ray Twilight Zone set, The Virginian, Wagon Train, All In The Family, and the OG Bionic Woman. I could possibly be tempted by those sets from The Virginian and Wagon Train, because I remember them both fondly. Unfortunately, the price looks a little steep, despite the 30 episode seasons of yesteryear. South Riding is another solid option, but you’ve been following along with that one on Masterpiece, right?
That leaves me leaning toward The Feathered Serpent for my pick of the week. That one is new to me, and it just sounds so bizarre. And after the crazy arts weekend I just had… (I saw a Mexican musical performed in a made up language, a modern dance piece that featured a topless woman wearing a tiger head, and a play about a man who discovers he was born a horse thanks to the help of the cokehead dentist he designed a butoh/lucha libre performance for. It was awesome!) …I’m in the mood for something a little bizarre.
