I was stuck at home this weekend with nothing better to do than watch some television. Thanks to Netflix streaming, I was able to catch up on the second season of Make It Or Break It. In the mid-season finale, all the Rock girls had made the World team, but there was some doubt as to whether they would remain on the team. To prepare you for the spring premiere tonight, here are reminders about what was happening with the main characters when we last saw them. I have also seen tonight’s episode, so if you want some teasers, they are listed after the character summaries.
Kaylie – She passed out during her beam routine and was rushed to the hospital due to an eating disorder. She placed second for the World team pending her recovery.
Payson – She performed an artistic floor routine that wowed the National committee and she was given a spot on the World team. She was dealing with the disappearance of her coach and mentor, Sasha.
Emily – She did well enough to make the World team, but was arrested at the competition since she missed her court date for stealing her brother’s seizure drugs.
Lauren – Despite having a breakdown over her mother’s death, she also made the World team. She found out that her father kept her mother from attending Nationals. She was responsible for Sasha being kicked out of the Rock by sending the picture of Payson kissing the Sasha to Ellen Beals.
Sasha – He showed up at the world team competition and forced the National committee to see Payson. He left prior to finding out the results and left town in his RV.
Carter- He told Lauren that he loved her, but she betrayed him by telling Summer they’d been having sex. There was no resolution about whether he was or wasn’t kicked out of the Rock, especially since Sasha was no longer the coach.
Chloe and Steve – They broke up because Chloe didn’t tell Steve right away about Carter and Lauren.
Summer and Steve – She went to church looking for a sign after she almost gave into temptation with Sasha. Steve walked into the church upset about Lauren and they ended up consoling each other. It appeared they were getting back together.
Teasers for tonight’s spring premiere –
The spring premiere sets the stage for the remainder of season two, which I assume will end at the World Championships. Will all four of the Rock girls compete at the Worlds? I’m ready for the ride!
Poor Kaylie, she’s really stuck in a position with so many forces pulling her in different directions. Hopefully Austin is right, and they won’t let her out of rehab until she’s better, or she won’t figure out a way to con herself out of there while still having a problem. That whole scene at the end with Austin was so good ( https://vimeo.com/22309560 )…sometimes Kaylie can be frustrating, but I do hope they end up together.
Also, I loved that song from the scene, “Fall Face First, Hit Rock Bottom” by Pablo Sebastian…what a great lyric that really sums up where Kaylie’s at right now.
