An interesting episode of Desperate Housewives this week as the theme was saying goodbye. Some goodbyes were sad, some were helpful and one was shocking … at least to the person who didn’t see it coming.
I was surprised that Lynette and Tom were so eager to kick their twins out of the house after they brought a couple of girls back and dragged Lynette out of bed to make them omelets. It was pretty funny when the boys moved out and drove across the street to Mrs. McClusky’s house. After Lynette sabotaged the living arrangement by suggesting the boys throw a party, I hope she went and helped Mrs. McClusky clean up.
Susan discovered she could get out of traffic tickets and move to the front of lines by using her dialysis to get pity, but after failing to move Renee and herself to the front of the line at a swanky restaurant, Susan passed out while Renee thought she was still working the pity card. It was nice to see that Keith didn’t hold Bree’s keeping his son a secret for a week against her, but it was sad (and noble) of her to tell him to move to Florida so he could be closer to the boy. Hmmm, does this open the door for Keith’s dad to come back into Bree’s life, or maybe even Orson?
As much as Gaby has gotten on my nerves lately, her story was my favorite of the night. I liked that she didn’t want to go back to her small Texas hometown, but it was hilarious when she got there and found out she’s regarded as a superstar. Gaby ate up the adulation, the press and the personal appearance to dole out entirely inappropriate bits of wisdom to the school girls. I loved that everyone thought Carlos was her chauffeur — and she didn’t bother to correct them. I’m hopeful that we have finally put this Grace storyline behind us as Gaby faced up to her childhood abuse issues in a surprising way — not by going to her stepfather’s grave as the therapist suggested, but by confronting the nun who made Gaby feel as if she had done something wrong when trying to confide in her. That was all she needed to lift those feelings from her shoulders, so I hope she will move on and be the fun Gaby that we like.
The Paul Young story has taken some twists as he and Mike dragged Zack off to rehab. Zack revealed that he’s always hated his father, and all of that drama of feeling betrayed by Zack finally made Paul reveal that he knew Beth was Felicia’s daughter. Despite her claims that she really did love him — now — he tossed her out on the street with a suitcase and her gun. Really, Paul? You’re going to give this woman a gun after all you’ve been through? From the looks of things, someone is going to pay the price for that.

“Gaby, please tell the nice girls you’re joking.” – Carlos
“No. Young girls today need to know the dangers of long division.” – Gaby
“They broke three of my collectible shot glasses. I was this close to having one from every state. You think I want to go back to Wyoming?” – Mrs. McClusky
