Greek – Haven’t we seen this somewhere before?

It was funny that Daley mentioned Ashleigh seeing the profile of his "Full Monty" by the light of the refrigerator … but I wonder why Ashleigh wasn’t traumatized the entire episode.

I’m sure it’s been done ad nauseam on television, but there’s a specific instance of “piece together your drunken night after waking up in the morning with a massive headache” that Rusty made me think of on last night’s episode of Greek. And that’s Theodore Evelyn Mosby from the season one episode of How I Met Your Mother, “The Pineapple Incident.” Not because they remind me of one another, mind you, but rather because a guy like Ted (or Cappie!) you could imagine having the experience. But Rusty? Not in a million years. And that made the entire thing kind of dumb.

But I did find Rusty funny here and there, and it was nice to see him and Calvin hanging out again. There was Rusty wondering if he’d kissed a clown, wondering if he’d changed his ATM pin, embarrassing himself with Katherine. Plus, did you see the size of his wire? How in the world did he think he could put that thing through his nipple? Yikes! The best part of the entire story (and it was awesome)? When Rusty said to Katherine, “Who’s Walter?” That was hilarious.

But Rusty’s plot didn’t work for me, and I much preferred the brief moments where Rusty was being a good friend to Calvin. That guy really needs to jump ship at Omega Chi and join KT (or not … he doesn’t have to be in a fraternity) because that’s really not a healthy place for him to spend his time.

At first Katherine’s questions about birth control were nothing but her usual social awkwardness. However, they developed into a really interesting lesson about contraception, safe sex, and the realities of life. I didn’t think I’d ever say that goofy Casey and Cappie could teach young kids watching the show a valuable lesson, but I think they just may have. The politics of the topic aside, I felt that the show addressed an important issue of life — one that college students are likely to face — quite responsibly.

I had less confidence in the babysitting craziness going on at the ZBZ house. First of all, how has Casey never punched Rebecca in the face? But I just don’t understand how a daycare’s worth of kids was supposed to symbolize anything for anyone. Hailey was occasionally cute, but what a random idea.

I had two thoughts about the fact that Ashleigh seems prepared to land herself a sugar daddy. One, obviously that’s pathetic and also an awful way for her to end up with Rusty, which is just an awful idea in the first place.

The second is this: of all the things she’s done since becoming president of ZBZ, this is the one most in keeping with who she was on the show before becoming president. I don’t mean she needs to prostitute herself out, but the immature Ashleigh with no plan who needed to lean on others? That’s actually who she is … I just wish she’d lean on mommy and daddy (as bad an option as that is) before sleeping her way to sustenance.

And Professor Segal (Josh Randall)? Not cool.

I all to well know of people wanting sugar daddies… like every guy I have ever met!

Anyways… These episodes are are good, for the most part, but the show jumped ahead to graduation and then to September and now it’s moving insanely slowly. It must be about the second week of September and there are only four episodes left. It doesn’t feel like it’s ending.

Yeah, I wonder too where everything’s headed. No idea right now.
