Unfortunately, it has been a couple of weeks since I’ve been around to talk Gossip Girl (When Brett used to cover shows for me when I was out of town, he used to always say that I was visiting the Dale Earnhardt Museum in Charlotte, NC … I can assure you, that’s not where I was). Last week, Team Juliet laid the smack down hard on Serena, and then Juliet took things to the next level solo-style. This week is all about the aftermath.
Why do I have a feeling this isn’t the first time Serena has woken up with no clue where she was? What’s really bad is faced with Juliet’s faked picture in the Gossip Girl Blast, even Serena doubts herself. We know, though, that this story is a whole lot more the Upper-East-Sider who cried wolf than party girl hits the skids. Dan never really stopped believing in our favorite blonde, even if it took Little J’s confession to bring Blair around (On Jenny’s way out of town, always a plus).
If things play out the way I expect, next week should be an outstanding episode. I’ve always thought Gossip Girl shines when the team bands together usually, ironically, to come to Serena’s rescue. Dan and Blair leading the charge, though, is an odd couple to be sure. I’m not sure what I’m looking more forward to: Juliet’s eventual downfall, or finally figuring out her and her brother’s motivations (And I know I said it before, but … seriously? Ben and Juliet?)
Speaking of Lonely Boy … now that we’re now first in the queue line, I’m not sure if I’m entirely ready for another ride on the Dan/Serena carousel. While I think these two are destined to be together eventually, I’m more of a fan of them realizing it in the last episode of the series. If they really are getting together now, I’ll doubt they’ll last until this season’s finale.

My mom uses the term “gaslighting” all the time – when she thinks my dad or someone is trying to trick her into thinking she’s crazy. It’s become a popular term in my family to say the least. Angela Lansbury was in the movie – a very young Angela Lansbury in her first movie role, which also earned her a Best Supporting Actress nominee. It’s an interesting old flick – the husband tries to make the wife (Ingrid Bergman, who won Best Actress for the role) think she’s crazy and seeing ghosts by playing with the lights, making noises in the attic, etc.
