I’m not sure how Leonard does it. First he has his big romance with with Penny, which included, as Sheldon would say, coitus. Perhaps he felt out of the loop being the only one without a girlfriend recently, but this guy definitely gets around more than he would in the real world. He’s moved on to forbidden fruits this time … Raj’s sister, Priya.
Who, might I add, jumps right into bed with him and apparently has done such on every visit she’s made to the States in the past five years. Yikes! Is there something about the Leonard character I’m just not seeing? Sure, he would be a decent boyfriend — nice guy albeit nerdy. I’m just not getting why the gorgeous girls are all over him. And Priya basically just wants to jump his bones.
Of course, she couldn’t just jump his bones immediately. Years ago when she first visited, all of the boys (including Sheldon) promised Raj they wouldn’t go after his sister. Howard and Leonard even pinky-swore on it. So this is all on the down low … er, wait. That has a different connotation these days, doesn’t it? It’s all hush-hush, sneak-around clandestine meetings between Leonard and Priya.
Thankfully Sheldon is tied up playing a text-based computer game from the ’80s which he just doesn’t understand. Yeah, you heard me — Sheldon is flopping with the game, as unbelievable as that is. So Leonard managed to sneak Priya into his room at night, but got snagged by Sheldon in the morning.
As is typical for the “I cannot tell a lie unless I have a whole convoluted extravagant one to tell” Sheldon, he made an alibi for Leonard which included an auburn-haired (with an orangutan hair lock) vamp from an Irish pub. He had to get over the betrayal and the fact that he almost wasted his precious hemorrhoid cream on Leonard. No, not for hemorrhoids — for the lipstick he thought was a rash!
Despite the fact that ALL Priya wants is a romp in bed with Leonard now and then, Leonard proposed that he could move to India. “No way! My parents won’t let me bring a white boy home!”
But it’s too late. Betrayal bedlam was about to blow. Leonard told Raj the truth and they all declared betrayals. Let’s see if I can remember them all —
It turns out that Leonard might be the most faithful friend of the bunch!
This episode, though its technical focus was on Leonard, actually involved all of the friends, something we don’t often see. Usually there will be a parallel side-story. Penny is amongst the missing, but she probably missed quite a bit by breaking her leg (in real life). I like the ensemble cast in an episode like this one in which they’re all tied to the main story. Raj could have used a few more lines, but overall I approve.
I know CBS cares about my approval.
They do.
Don’t they?
I got quite a kick out of this episode. I do agree that it’s really weird that all of the hotties dig on Leonard all the time. But then again, it’s TV and it wouldn’t be a sitcom without the odd relational pairings.
Just a note: I’m pretty sure it’s spelled – Priya.
Billy is right. It’s spelled Priya.
I loved that scene where they all confess the things they’ve done to each other. :D
Explain “this guy definitely gets around more than he would in the real world.”
Are you implying that hot nerds don’t get laid/girlfriends? I like nerds.
Johnny Galecki is an attractive man.
This was a great episode for Sheldon. The napkin with the “coitus” proposal was a great Sheldon moment.
