The Shield virgin’s diary – The noose tightens

As Aceveda's investigation continues, things are getting more and more precarious for the Strike Team. But, when Gilroy throws Vic a rope, will the cost be worth it?

Things look bad for the Strike Force, but, considering this is season one of six, I’m not too worried. My guess is things will end badly for Aceveda, and not Vic. Shane, was partly a victim of Vic’s anger over his son, but mainly a victim of his own stupidity. He doesn’t deserve getting thrown under the bus, but, as seems to be the theme of the Vic Mackey way of doing business, the ends justify the means.

The story of Matthew’s autism continues in the background. It is interesting to watch Vic try to handle something truly personal. His confession to Shane at the end served two purposes. It was a chance for him to vent emotionally, to be sure, but was also a way for Vic to clear his conscience before ultimately stabbing him in the back.

There’s nothing about Julien’s story line that I like. I don’t think he’s in the wrong for pursuing the case against Vic with IAB, but I don’t like the way he’s doing it. I get that he suspects Dani’s motives, but she’s done nothing to indicate to him that she is complicit in the Strike Force’s actions. His personal relationship is just another plot in which we get to see his insecurity.

The woman’s rant at the beginning of the episode was heartbreaking. She unloaded on Dutch-boy (and then the whole building), and wasn’t wrong. What was a great scene, though, unfortunately led to a weak story line involving a fake psychic. Hey, TV show runners, just for the record: I like my fake psychics solving crimes without ripping off little old ladies. It was a shame, though, to see that great scene wasted.

The woman’s rant at the beginning wasn’t actually connected with anything in the episode. I think it was just a show of how some ppl are feeling in the Farmington area.

The psychic case came about because Dutch was in a rut trying to catch his serial killer.
