Cat Deely is looking for the first of the three contestants to step into the Bottom Three tonight on So You Think You Can Dance.
But she’s not going to find that contestant in Alex, Ashley, AdeChike or Kent, the first four up to find out their fates. With the first three given safe harbor, that sneaky ‘ole Cat fooled us into thinking that Kent was the only one left of the first four up for elimination to make the Bottom Three.
Nope. Not happening. Surprise, surprise, Cat wipes the down-turned corners of Kent’s mouth right into an up-swept smile. The relief pouring out of him is barely containable.
Lauren, Robert and Billy are up next. Lauren runs off the stage safe from the Bottom Three. But Billy is not so safe. And, lo and behold, neither is Robert. Another surprise. Both guys get tossed into the trio pit.
The final two contestants come out: Melinda and Jose. Is there any doubt who makes up the third of the three? Again … nope. As predicted last posting, Melinda rounds out that triad.
So … Billy contorts on stage for his life. Robert pops and locks on stage for his life. Melinda sounds off with her feet on stage for her life.
But, regardless of any of the contestants’ efforts, the judges are (in my mind) already unanimous in their vote. They did a bit of doom-saying during the previous night’s episode, stating that they “may have made a mistake in not sending Melinda home,” instead letting Cristina go the previous week.
Fare well, Melinda. You exit from the dance stage and from the show this evening having tapped your last for the season. You will be missed.
