When I think of Alyson Hannigan, the awesome character of Willow Rosenberg from Buffy the Vampire Slayer springs to mind. She brought her own quirky charm to the role and made it her own. The next thing I do, after getting the warm Willow fuzzies over with, is to try to will away any images of Hannigan as Lily on How I Met Your Mother, definitely her most annoying role for me. I’ll have to give Trina Echolls of Veronica Mars the second runner-up award because it was fun to see Hannigan play a bitch.
The CliqueClack writing staff, though — they all have their own ideas about Hannigan’s most memorable role….
JAY: The sexy school girl Maxim (or maybe it was FHM) she did. Not actually an “acting” roll per se, but still very memorable (and proof that if I concentrate on something hard enough, I can will it into existence).
IVEY: Wow, Jay, really? I’m a fan of hers, and I thought FHM did a great job at making her look scary in that shoot (but then, google tells me that you might be talking of FHM UK 2001, which is different). I mean, this just doesn’t work:
As much as I’d like to point at Willow or even Lily (though, personally, I spend most episodes of HIMYM trying to forget her as Lily) as her most memorable role. Willow most certainly should be, that line she says as Michelle in American Pie is just so iconic, I think most people will always recognize her as Band Camp Girl. BOB: It’s hard to go against any character from a cult show like Buffy, but I think Ivey might have a point in regards to American Pie.
KONA: I hated Alyson Hannigan as Willow, and she’s a big reason why I could never watch Buffy. She didn’t do much for me in American Pie, but I really like Lily in HIMYM, so my vote’s for that.

Yep, it wasn’t that many episodes, but she was Logan’s bitchy older sister … trying to be an actress.
I have to agree with Ivey. Although we want her to be remembered as Willow, or even as Lily (her first major commercial success), she will be forever cemented in the general public’s mind for “This one time at band camp…” Even people who have never seen American Pie know that line. You can’t say that about any of her other roles.
Bored Now! ?
Oh c’mon. “Bored now” is an iconic line, but ONLY for people who know the context. If you’ve never seen BtVS, that line means nothing. KanedaX’s point was that people who haven’t even seen American Pie are probably familiar with “and this one time, at band camp…” because it was in all the trailers.
LOL. By just reading the title of these post, my mind went directly to that frase.. “This one time at band camp…”, but in reallity i never was a Willow fan, but Lilly, yes!!! all the way. It’s easy to jump to Willow because it have more seasons in that character (it doesn’t help the fact that Buffy rocks, and i was in my high school years when it run) wich could be a disadvantage to Lilly, that been a nicer character in my opinion, maybe doesn’t have yet the “old pal” feeling that Willow has.
All in all, my vote goes to Lilly!!! (just because i like her more :)
Since this poll was mentioned at whedonesque, all the fans should have flocked to vote for Alyson in Buffy; but there is only 1 000 fans so far.
It looks like this site have a special interest in Joss Whedon actors.
It would be great to have the same poll with the cute and talented Summer Glau (don’t miss her in her new incoming show “The Cape” on NBC by the way).

I don’t actually like Willow…and I adore Lilly, but for me, Alyson Hannigan will always be Michelle from American pie ^^
