Modern Family — Really, I don’t think it’s going to be often that Modern Family isn’t in the top spot every Wednesday. Alright, maybe when it airs a repeat … or not. While this episode wasn’t as full of quotes as previous episodes, it was the situations themselves that took the cake. This show never ceases to impress me, and I’m glad it’s been able to sustain its very strong pilot episode.
Happy Town — I’m still very much enthralled by this show, and I’m hoping it can keep drawing me in every week. It makes me a bit nervous that Appelbaum and Nemec are involved with this show, as their track record hasn’t been great lately (Life on Mars, October Road, Samurai Girl). If the ratings don’t pick up, though, we may be seeing an “entire series” DVD set for the show later this year, if you catch my drift.
The Middle — ABC rules the night, I guess. Though I enjoy ever episode of this series, it’s one that I can miss and not feel like I’ve missed out on something. That’s not dissing on the show at all. In fact, it’s a good thing when you can have a show that’s able to sustain itself with quality episodes and not require an investment from the viewer.
What were your top picks of the night?
Next week will make a minimum of three October Road alumni on Happy Town. I don’t think it’s going to be a keeper. Ratings are too low and this is the type of series that if you don’t watch from the beginning, you’ll never catch up.
