There are days in which I think that Jenny Humphrey might just be the driving force that end is the end of society, as we know it. The girl can’t do anything right (and by “right” I’m talking about right vs. wrong, good vs. evil, you know the kinds of questions that Lost will never answer). She has bounced from one disastrous storyline to another, from running away from home to being a high priced drug mule, and things aren’t looking much better for her these days. I’m finally getting on the Serena/Nate train, and I have no desire for Little J to screw that up.
I can’t even begin to understand her motivations. She had a fling with Nate before and it didn’t work, at least not for me and audiences across the country (If only Jenny would ring me up so I could give her some dating advice). Her brother hit the nail on the head it when he asked why she went from “zero to blackmail in 60 seconds.” We followed the storyline the first couple of season that had Jenny replacing Blair as the “Queen Bee,” but it didn’t work then. I’m not sure what the right place is for her on the show, but there’s only room for one Blair Waldorf, and that spot is already called for.
Speaking of things that are headed down the drain, I’m not seeing a big future for Dan and Vanessa. It is natural, in a lot of ways, for two young people as close as they were for as long as they were to explore their feelings. But, soon, they will realize that they just aren’t meant to be. I’m not sure, though, that either of them have a natural match with any of the characters. I liked Vanessa and Nate, but I’m not sure they’re a great fit, and I’m afraid of being subjected to a Dan and Serena relationship that doesn’t work.
Who would you rather see Vanessa or Dan paired with? Am I’m totally off base about Jenny? Can’t believe I completely ignored the Chuck/Blair drama this week? You tell me….
