“And the keypad is for texting, which is what you do when you want to avoid talking to someone.” – Pearl teaching random vampire how to use a cell phone
Three things really struck me about this episode of The Vampire Diaries:
It seemed like Jeremy, thanks to Damon’s mindwipe, was really starting to put his life back together. I know he was researching vampires and was certainly curious about Anna and Vicki, but I never would have made the leap that he’d want to be turned. It seems like a bit of a sensational way to take the story, simply to give us the OMG moment but it really doesn’t hold true to his character. I’m hoping further explanation next week will make more sense. It was kind of great watching him trap her into revealing her vamp-ness though. He might be pathetic, but he’s definitely smart.
OK, it makes perfect sense why Pearl can kick Damon’s ass (or at least gouge his eyes out) — she’s 400 years older than he is. Whoo-boy, is she mean though. I suppose Katherine’s best friend wasn’t going to be all puppy dogs and roses, but this is a side of her that I didn’t expect. I’m interested to see what her end game is — there’s got to be more to it than taking back the town. What is she expecting that to look like?
You know the town you’re living in is way too small when you catch your mom dry humping your ex-girlfriend’s boyfriend’s brother while you’re out on a date with said ex-girlfriend’s new best friend. Yep, time to go to college far, far away. I’m really not getting a lot of satisfaction from Kelly’s arrival in town. She’s distracting from the fun storylines. As much as I like to see Melinda Clarke (and all of her fabulous botox) working, I’d rather see her slutting it up with Barney on How I Met Your Mother or something.
Other quick thoughts:
Agree! Where did Jeremy wanting to be a vampire come from!??! I was really shocked in a bad way. Also, I think there is more to Kelly that just the slut factor. We’ll see. :D
