(Season 2, Episode 9)
Blair’s desperation to get into Yale lands her in yet another sticky situation, dealing with a hormone-crazy girl who would rather go out than stay at home, reading Harry Potter and eating ice cream. At this point, I’m so curious to know where are the characters end up attending school, I’m tempted to jump ahead and read spoilers for the upcoming season. As I’ve mentioned before, if I find that they all end up at the same university, I will break something. Maybe I should just hold off until I absolutely have to know, because I’m getting the feeling there’s a stupid cop-out coming.
Surprisingly, the biggest drama of the episode did not revolve around Blair and Chuck, whose relationship seems to have settled into occasional team-ups for sneaky plots. I’m sure that won’t be the end of their tension, though.
Little J continued to go crazy in this episode, no thanks to Willa Holland and her underage antics. It’s like getting a shaggy haircut and raccoon eyes made her go extra-unstable. I was also sure that the guerrilla fashion show would turn into a cringe-worthy mess — well, actually, it was a cringe-worthy mess, but it was a cringe-worthy mess that old rich people seemed to like. Adding a few sessions of sucking face with Nate made for a whole mess of problems.
Jenny Humphrey, everyone hates you now, and there are only a psycho-model and a jailbait-chaser at your side. Good luck with that. Oh, and your silly new band.
