Being Human – No one gets left behind

Being-human5

Mitchell’s return to the nest didn’t go as swimmingly as he expected. Herrick sold him a bill of goods about it being different, but feeding off a gaggle of runaways while mobilizing an army of undead wasn’t what Mitchell had in mind. So, he split again. Herrick was right about one thing — Mitchell needs to make up his damn mind. He can’t come and go on a whim. Either commit to an eternity of bloodsucking, or settle in for a lifetime of mundane problems and bouts of boredom. Nothing comes easy on Being Human.

Annie decided to enact vengeance on the murderous Owen. Watching her practice her “haunting” technique was hilarious. I’m not sure George helped her much by bringing up Swayze in Ghost, but at least he tried. Her initial confrontation with Owen was not too effective — Owen called her weak and laughed in her ghostly face. What an asshole! I found it odd that he dismissed her so quickly. C’mon, he was talking to his dead fiance. That’s a little abnormal, don’t you think?

Thanks to Lauren, and to a lesser extent, George and Annie, Mitchell was able to escape the vampire’s lair. His freeing Lauren by staking her was fitting; she knew she’d never be able to control her thirst. I like how she slowly dissolved into dust after she died. Very cool touch.

What did Annie whisper to Owen that scared the living shit out of him? It was something “only the dead know.” I’m guessing she told him there is a hell, and he’ll be heading there in the future. Whatever the case, Owen freaked out and confessed to the cops. Will Annie pass through the door in the flat? If not, will it eventually disappear? I kinda sorta already know the answer, but I’m still interested in how her character will evolve if she sticks around.

One episode remains in season one. The Brits are spoiling me with their short seasons. To be honest, I’m tired of sitting through twenty-plus chapters, even if it’s a series I dig. I realize more episodes means more ad dollars, and that’s the only reason why American networks exist, but I still believe dramatic television shows can unfold a season-long story in twelve installments. It’ll never happen, but a guy can dream.

I agree with you on the length of seasons over here, they seem to really cram an hour with everything you need & a 6 hour series can be digested much easier than a 20 hour one.

BTW, dunno if the league of gentlemen reached the US, but the guys who made it created another awesome show this Summer called Psychoville, I’d recommend checking it out because it’s extremely twisted & funny!
