Sebastian’s back Guest-clacking for us again, after writing about COLBERT in space….
Admit it, when you read that Chevy Chase is going to star in a new comedy this fall on NBC you thought the following things:
But let’s get back to Community and why it made me giddy like a schoolgirl when I saw the preview.
Still not convinced? Watch the preview already!
The show is about a community college (hence the name) and how Joel McHale’s character (a guy called Jeff) needs to get a college degree from a “real” university — you know, not “Columbia” the country.
But quite frankly it’s rather all about getting the hot girl who’s afraid to fail her Spanish class. So Jeff forms a study group for Spanish to get closer to her — and all the misfits of the school end up in it. Seems the Breakfast Club reference was a clever take of the authors of this show on themselves because, you know — that’s basically the premise, with a twist. Including the ridiculous Spanish and revealing subtitles.
Anyway this rocks and it eases my pain about Life. Can’t wait for the fall.
Really?
See, now that was funny.
:-)
Grand! ;-)
Oddly enough after watching that preview I thought this…
NBC sucks and will never ever get away from #4 in the ratings
See, I’m less likely to give this a chance simply because its on NBC now. I mean, I’m interested in ‘Day One,’ and thus I will watch it. But as far as giving new shows I don’t know anything about a chance, it certainly won’t be on FOX, and now NBC.
#nbcfail
Why is that? Fox is actually keeping it’s shows, NBC has nothing anyways. I would have reservations about watching CBS or ABC shows. ABC has canceled most of it’s newer scripted shows, and CBS cancels any show with less than 15 million viewers.
“Its” not “it is” Oreo and you guys are both right.
Any new show on NBC or Fox has less chance of survival than on ABC and CBS. The reasons are simple – NBC just deleted five hours of primetime television for scripted shows and Fox is just acting plain weird.
At least you KNOW that on CBS your show will fail if it gets below 15 million and with ABC you can bet that they will keep certain shows.
I still like NBC for renewing FNL though :-)
@Sebastian-
In your intro you say that Chevy Chase is starring in a new drama on NBC. Are you referring to Community, or was he attached to another project (not Chuck) and ended up with this new show? It kind of looks like a comedy, I hope NBC doesn’t try to bill it as a “dramedy” or “comma” cause I really can’t stand those terms. Is it an hour long show?
Thanks
Ah, fixed!
Debbie, Sebastian’s craptastic editor…. :-/
Yeah it’s like Pokémon with me – gotta catch ‘em all ;-)
