Please don’t screw this up, Medium!

medium-allisonSeriously, two two-parters in a row? What gives? As Kona mentioned last week, the first one was really unnecessary. It wasn’t even really a continuation. Now we get another “to be continued…”, which granted, seems a little more interesting, and yet, I’m fearful that this is going to bomb.

While this episode was a vast improvement from last week’s, which really just felt like a whole lot of filler, I have a couple of bones to pick.

First off, has there ever been an instance in which a spirit has influenced Allison’s dreams before? If there has been, I can’t remember. I called it before the big reveal at the end, and yet I was hoping it wouldn’t turn out to be that way because it seems ridiculous.

Where have all her other dreams come from, then? God? I’ll be disappointed if it comes to that. Even though it works for Supernatural, I think here, the big guy is better left alone.

Second, what the hell, Allison! You don’t recognize the dude that you have seen in your dreams and real life who has personally told you he wants to kill you and your children? He just walks right by you, and nothing? I mean come on!!! She could have just been in the other room or something. Joe could’ve answered the door, or Devalos. This is just sloppiness, plain and simple.

Third, how are they possibly going to resolve this? How is she going to get Lucas Harvey’s ghost to leave her alone? The dude is a psychopath. Are they going to have a Ghost Whisperer crossover, with Jennifer Love Hewitt coming to convince him to cross over? I don’t actually watch Ghost Whisperer, but that’s what I’ve gathered she does … anyway.

I’m definitely curious to see how the writers are going to get themselves out of this tremendous hole they’ve dug. They’ve now set a precedent for any and all spirits to screw with Allison’s dreams, as if she didn’t have enough trouble deciphering them already. Is it just going to be pushed aside and never brought up again? Am I the only one who gives a crap about continuity?

This season has not been stellar. Last year was so good, and this year they seem to be scrambling for stories. The path has definitely veered into some odd territory.

As soon as the doorbell rang and the “groceries” were there, I knew it was bad news. As if Scanlon would have EVER allowed a group of unknowns deliver groceries into a house under surveillance. Seriously – they would have been delivered to the cops, the cops would have searched the bags completely and delivered them themselves.

All season it’s been about ghosts taking over Alison in one way or another. Messing with her dreams, encouraging her to build a bomb…they have to come up with some reason why the entire game changed. At least in Ghost Whisperer Melinda is always suspect of ghosts. She rarely takes them at their word and errs on the negative. And, Melinda has an entire army of entities that refuse to cross over and make her life hell from time time to time. This year Alison is so positive she’s right all the time that she’s really frakking things up, and I don’t think she would deal with an army against her as well as Melinda.

Phooey on this season. Makes me wonder if they’ve dried up and won’t be back next year.

And don’t forget killing a guy and cutting his hand off.
Medium *is* on the bubble as far as I know. Everything is all screwed up with Jay Leno and his 10pm slot.

The one thing that really bugs me about “Medium” – and I enjoy the show – is that Allison works for the police/district attorney because of her abilities, yet whenever she comes to them after having a dream, Davalos and Scanlon basically treat her like a five year old who just woke from a nightmare and totally dismiss her. I can see that working through the first season as they get to know her and what she can do, but by now they shouldn’t always be second guessing her. It’s really annoying, and if I was Allison I’d just tell them to go screw themselves and work freelance!

Apparently even Joe doesn’t know how it works yet, so can you blame them? ;)

Im desapointed with this year episodes, so far in almost all of them Allison was “dumb” meaning not understanding her dreams or not recognizing poeple from them.

It wasnt like that the previous years, it sadden me. Its like they dig up old written dumber episodes because they are lacking new ideas.
