Do you like guacamole? The Food Network likes guacamole … a whole lot. With the Super Bowl right around the corner, the Food Network is celebrating with a new section of their website dedicated completely to one of my favorite dips.
Mmm, the avocado is a tasty little fruit. You have to love a vegetable that has as much fat in it as an avocado. It’s one of those foods that I think makes just about anything better. Eating a sandwich? Throw some sliced avocado on there. Ditto for salads, pastas, breakfast cereals, desserts … alright, I’m getting carried away, but so has the Food Network.
Over on their guacamole page, they have pages and pages of guacamole recipes, but that’s only the beginning. Guy Fieri, host of Guy’s Big Bite, Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, and Ultimate Recipe Showdown has been dubbed the “Guac Doc,” as if the dude needed more attention. There’s even a contest that you can enter with your own guacamole recipe to be inducted into the “guac of fame.”
In honor of the guacamole site, the Food Network has also released a musical video in honor of the green dip. I’ve embedded it below. Here’s a fair warning: it’s pretty corny.
I may be teasing a little, but with nearly 200 guacamole recipes, this site is worth a look. Check it out and let me know what you think.
