Cate was kind enough to point out the USA marathons that are going on this week. While I do enjoy Will Ferrel’s Elf, I think I’ve seen it enough times, and at least once all the way through this holiday season. I never really understood the all-day movie marathon. Why would you need to see a movie more than once per day? Are they designed so that you can watch the movie whenever you want during the day? I know TNT does it every year with A Christmas Story, but I just don’t understand it.
In any case, I found my marathon of choice that I will be watching on January 1….
Food Network has six episodes of Iron Chef America airing on New Year’s Day. My only complaint is that this is more like a mini-marathon. Six episodes hardly fill up an entire day. Heck, the marathon doesn’t even start until two in the afternoon. I love marathons, especially on New Year’s day when all I want to do is sit on the couch and nurse my hangover. If I had my way, there would be at least twice as many episodes airing right in a row, but alas, I will stop looking this gift horse in the mouth and just be happy with my six episode marathon.
All six episode feature a game-y secret ingredient (examples are rabbit, wild boar, and venison). Battle pork is also being featured, and I don’t really understand how one can consider pork to be game. Oh well.
Are you planning on checking out any of this marathon or do you have different viewing plans for January 1st?
