With its “Casting Clack” post, CliqueClack brings you a summary of the TV casting news released throughout the week, be it the addition of a series regular, a new recurring cast member, a guest star, or even someone making a cameo.
Be warned, the casting news after the jump may contain slight spoilers about the roles the actors will play.
This week, we have casting news for the following TV series: Burn Notice, Cold Case, ER, Numb3rs, True Blood and Ugly Betty.
- Burn Notice will introduce Michael’s former fiancé in the season 2 finale, set to air on March 5. Said fiancé will be played by Dina Meyer, who starred in canceled-rather-quickly series such as Miss Match, Point Pleasant and Birds of Prey. [Source: The Ausiello Files]
- Jeff Fahey, who plays pilot Frank Lapidus on Lost, will go back to the main land to shoot an episode of CBS’s Cold Case set to air early when the show returns with new episodes in 2009. Considering Fahey’s looks, it’s no surprise to see him play the owner of a motorcycle customization shop. [Source: The Ausiello Files]
- Yet another actor from ER‘s past has agreed to return for the series’ final episodes. Alex Kingston, who played Doctor Elizabeth Corday, will appear in the January 15 episode. In the installment, Neela goes in for an attending interview and runs into Dr. Corday — aka Mark Greene’s widow. It looks like this guest appearance will have no impact on the show’s storylines. - Eve, better known for her singing, will guest star as a sales rep at a sneaker store in an upcoming episode of Numb3rs. The episode almost looks like a criminal version of The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. Instead of pants, it’s a valuable pair of sneakers. Criminals, and not a bunch of lovable teens, are the ones wearing the sneakers the FBI is trying to get their hands on. [Source: The Ausiello Files]
- We Are Marshall‘s Wes Brown will appear in at least six episodes of True Blood‘s second season. He’ll play God-obsessed Luke and bond with Jason while at church camp. [Source: The Ausiello Files]
- Dexter‘s Lauren Velez will appear in a multi-episode arc on Ugly Betty. Very few details have leaked about her character, nurse Elena, but it is known that she will enter the lives of the Suarez family and that her appearance may be tied to the death of a major character. Could she be brought on the show to take care of Ignatio who is rumored to have a heart attack when new episodes return? Even if she is indeed there to take care of Ignatio, is he the one dying or will Elena be involved in the death of another character? Share your theories in comments!
