If you’re into pop culture, movies, reality television — you know, the finer things in life — then The Soup on E is a show you just can’t pass up! Joel McHale hosts the show with a delicious touch of evil mockery and a fine sense of comedic timing. After all, if we as a society cannot laugh at ourselves and what interests us, how can we be expected to rule the world? The squirrels might as well take over. They have no sense of humor, you know.
Since I enjoy reality television, the fact that this show airs segments on the stupid and sleaziest bits of some of my favorite shows delights me to no end. But it’s not just about reality television. We’re talking movies, politics and more. Anything pop culture, anything the which has the interest of the general public’s eye, it’s all fair game for The Soup. Hey, even a shoe or two may be thrown. You just never know.
For example, this is what they did with a Christmas classic:
Don’t you just love it?
The Soup airs on cable television network E at 10 PM ET/PT on Friday evenings. Think about it. There’s nothing funny on elsewhere at that time, right? Fridays tend to be a vast wasteland of shows I enjoy and The Soup is perfect to get a take on the week’s happenings. And, I personally find it better written and executed than either Mad TV or SNL on Saturday nights. Give it a shot. What have you got to lose?
