(Season 3, Episode 6)
In case you’re wondering, the episode title translates roughly to “if it can be.” Well, that’s Google’s literal translation, but it really means “yes, it can be done.” Miguel has gone out of his way to prove to Dexter that this is a moto he can attach to their little relationship, and Dexter’s clearly not sure he’s ready to deal with that fully just yet.
I go on about this show being predictable, though one thing that I have totally no idea about is who this Skinner is and why he (or she!) is doing what they’re doing. Wouldn’t it be outlandish if the writers threw us for a loop, and it’s Dexter who’s doing all of this on the side, and he’s just not making us aware of it? With Harry popping up more often in Dexter’s head, I wouldn’t take crazy dual-personality off the table for him.
The thing that is predictable, however, is the eventual reveal that Miguel’s brother, Oscar, was working as a Dexter-esque vigilante for his purposes before he was killed. At this point I almost wonder if Miguel would forgive Dexter for mistakenly killing Oscar in the act of carrying out the same task.
I’m not sure what to make of Ramon yet. After tonight’s episode, I think he’s nothing but a frustrated cop who’s looking to avenge is late brother. I’m not even sure I’d say he has the stomach to pull off the fake Skinner job from last week’s episode. So far I’d put Anton on top of the list of probable Skinner suspects because, well, what the hell else is he good for in this show besides some sexual tension for Deb?
I knew something more personal was going on between Quinn and Yuki. I’m still trying to understand why Deb would take so much shit from Yuki without having looked up her credentials a bit more, maybe speaking with her superior officer, for example. Who is this crazy bitch?
Quinn is definitely hard to read. Something’s not right there, and he has Red Shirt, of a sort, written all over him. So what’s his story? What will be the thing that brings him down this season, and why?
Deb: “Do we seriously think that Ramon, a fellow cop, could do something this sick?”
Dexter: “Like a career in law enforcement precludes violent behavior?”
