- The White Sox and the Rays finally get their ALDS Game 1 on. Then at 6:00p/5:00 Central Milwaukee tries to even up their series with the Phillies in NLDS Game 2.
8:00p/7:00 Central
- Ratings for NBC’s My Name is Earl are in the toilet. Were people that put off by the extended coma, marriage and jail storylines? It’s back to basics now. Tonight, Earl has to fill in for Joy because she’s stuck in a bubble and then make it up to Jerry Van Dyle for stealing his RV.
- Oliver Queen, discovering he has 24 hours to live, flashes back to his island origins on The CW’s Smallville. At ABC, while prepping her first issue as editor, Wilhelmina tries to lure Ugly Betty over to Mode.
- If competition is more your style, FOX has a full hour where you have to make your body fit the shape of a Hole in the Wall. Or, you can deal with CBS’s Survivor, where all you do is manipulate people, live off the land and perform in incredibly convoluted physical challenges every few days.
- How about fake competition? The premiere wrestling event of the past several decades comes to network television as MyNetworkTV presents WrestleMania XXIV. If ever something was going to put MyNet on the map, the WWE is it!
9:00p/8:00 Central
- The Vice Presidential Debate in St. Louis consumes the rest of the night on ABC, CBS, NBD and FOX. Finally, a chance to see Joe Biden and Sarah Palin lock horns and tell us what they’re really all about. Honestly, people may want to tune into this one more than the presidential debates.
- If politics isn’t your thing, tune into the Winchester boys on The CW’s Supernatural. Dean falls into the past and learns more than he ever knew about his parents and an unknown grandfather.
- Young entrepreneurs keep trying to get financial backing for “their next great invention” on BBC America’s Dragon’s Den. Hot on the heels of last week’s second season finale we kick of the third season. If the invention doesn’t work out, they can blow it up and submit the video to Discovery Channel’s Destroyed in Seconds.
- MyNetworkTV keeps the WWE love going as the divas of the squared circle appear on the series premiere of Magic’s Biggest Secrets Finally Revealed. I’m not going to tell you what that show is about.
- But if you’re still too fired up after Wrestlemania, you should probably switch over to Spike TV and check out TNA: Impact!
10:00p/9:00 Central
- Showtime continues bringing us Comics Without Borders. Tonight’s talent is Tapan Trivedi and Angelo Tsarouchas. Or, for more American comedy, check out FX for back-to-back installments of the raunchily hilarious It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia. Tonight is a two-part episode in which Mac and Charlie fake their deaths to avoid … dying at the hands of Mac’s father.
- MTV continues its quest to find the next Top Pop Group, while A&E’s Jacked: Auto Theft Task Force continues its quest to find stolen cars and those who would take them.
- Tabatha continues her quest to find and fix shabby salons in TBS’s Tabatha’s Salon Takeover. VH1 continues their quest to rank the 100 Greatest Hip Hop Songs with Part 4 tonight.
- It’s all about quests. The Cubs have to climb out of a 0-1 hole if they want a chance to break their own curse and fight for World Series gold. Tonight is their NLDS Game 2 against the Dodgers.
- At 10:30p/9:30 Central, ABC offers up the Vice Presidential Debate Analysis. The other networks will be doing the same thing, they just didn’t schedule it as something different. ABC wants to be special!
11:00p/10:00 Central
- Entertainment Weekly’s “major arbiter of style” returns for a second season of makeover magic in Bravo’s Tim Gunn’s Guide to Style.
