With its “Weekly casting roundup,” Clique Clack brings you a summary of the TV casting news released throughout the week, be it the addition of a series regular, a new recurring cast member, a guest star or even someone making a cameo.
Be warned, the casting news after the jump may contain slight spoilers about the roles the actors will play.
This week, we have casting news for the following TV series: 90210, Bones, Boston Legal, Desperate Housewives, Grey’s Anatomy, How I Met Your Mother, NCIS, Pushing Daisies and Ugly Betty.
- The Riches‘ Michael Trevino will appear on 90210 as Ozzie, a new student. [Source: TV Guide Online]
- Roswell‘s Brendan Fehr will play David Boreanaz’ younger brother in two episodes of Bones. The character, named Jared, will come between Brennan and Booth. [Source: Watch with Kristin]
- Fans of Boston Legal rejoice: Julie Bowen is set to return! The actress, who last appeared on the series in May 2007, will return for episode 10. [Source: The Ausiello Files]
- Joining Bowen in episode 10 will be Valerie Bertinelli. No details on her roles are available. [Source: TV Guide Online]
- Peter Onorati will appear on ABC’s Desperate Housewives as the husband of a new character to be played by Gail O’Grady. The two actors appeared together on American Dreams. [Source: The Ausiello Files]
- Mary McDonnell will appear in a multi-episode arc on Grey’s Anatomy. Not many details about the role have been released but it is now known that she will play a doctor. [Source: KorbiTV]
- Alias‘ Melissa George is in talks to join Grey’s Anatomy as an intern who has an open mind about sexuality. The role is said to maybe be a romantic love interest for either Callie or Hahn. [Source: The Ausiello Files]
- The Young and the Restless‘ Eric Braeden has been cast as Robin’s father, Robin Charles Scherbatsky, Sr., for an upcoming episode of How I Met Your Mother. No word why Alan Thicke is not reprising the role. [Source: TV Guide Online]
- Fred Willard, David Arquette and Mary Kay Place will appear this season on Pushing Daisies. Willard will play a murdered magician while Arquette will play a friend of Ned’s who is said to be a misfit who has a hard time making friends. No details are available about Mary Kay Place’s role other than that the character will be named Annabelle Vandersloop. [Source: TV Guide Online]
- Ralph Waite, who appeared on The Waltons, will guest star in the October 14 episode of NCIS as Gibbs’ father. [Source: TV Guide Online]
- In other Pushing Daisies casting news, Jennifer Elise Cox will play a widow in an episode titled “Robbing Hood.” [Source: TV Guide Online]
- Karate Kid‘s Ralph Macchio will appear in the October 30 episode of ABC’s Ugly Betty. Macchio will play a city official named Archie Rodriguez and will drop by Hilda’s salon. The actor will appear in at least one episode. [Source: TV Guide Online]
- Playmakers‘ Sarah Lafleur will recur on Ugly Betty as Molly, a kindergarten teacher who is engaged to Meade Publications’ new CFO. The CFO will be played by Grant Bowler. [Source: The Ausiello Files]
