Reviews of new movies released in theaters
My middle schoolers have practically memorized every detail of the seven-book series, so when the movies stray from the books they get miffed. Such was the case with ‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2.’
The new movie ‘Winnie the Pooh’ is the perfect family movie, with nods to the original, a charming story, and humor for children and parents alike.
How do you say good bye to a friend? I have loved ‘Harry Potter’ since the first film and I have read every single book. While I don’t want to see it go, this was an awesome send-off.
Harry Potter fans have been waiting for this moment for years. Not since the release of the ‘Deathly Hallows’ book has the Potter hype machine been in this particular state of overdrive. Unfortunately, the last movie installment in the franchise doesn’t live up.
Why should I care about the characters in ‘Transformers: Dark of the Moon’? Especially as director Michael Bay doesn’t seem to care about his audience. Or anyone. Plus there aren’t any real characters to care about. The film left me bored and angry in equal measures.
Here comes the second chapter of ‘The Deathly Hallows’ with all its unveiling and pomp and finality. Me? Lord Voldemort himself couldn’t compel me to have an interest.
A stellar cast makes ‘Horrible Bosses’ tolerable, but the script is outrageous just to be outrageous and throws logic totally out the window.
