It’s an off week for new home video releases with the holiday causing a bit of a slow-down in Hollywood, with new “theatrical” releases — and I use the term loosely since none of these movies saw a wide release at cineplexes across the country — consisting of a samurai film by Asian cult director Takeshi Miike; a sort-of grindhouse movie with Rutger Hauer; a documentary about what may have been the first viral video; and … well … another film by the notorious Uwe Boll.
Over on the catalog side of things, Disney has repackaged three animated classics (apparently removing the Digital Copy bonus), and some older films are making their high-def debuts.
